Fires in Bulgaria: 76 calls in 24 hours, 54 fires, casualties and damage

Over the past 24 hours, fire services in Bulgaria have responded to 76 calls, extinguished 54 fires. 14 fires caused material damage. Three people were injured in fires in Varna, Sliven, and Pravets.

Over the past 24 hours, the units of the fire services in the country have responded to 76 calls for incidents and extinguished 54 fires, the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" (GDPSPC) reports on its website.

14 of the fires resulted in direct material damage - six in residential buildings, one in an industrial building, two in vehicles. 40 fires occurred without causing material damage, including six in dry grass, forest litter and bushes, 30 - in waste, two - in cooking appliances and chimneys.

A fire alarm was received at the fire department in Varna for a fire in an apartment in the "Vladislav Varnenchik" residential complex. A 70-year-old woman was injured, inhaling smoke and toxic fumes. She was taken to the "Toxicology" department of the Military Medical Academy by a team from the Emergency Medical Assistance Center (EMAC).

In Sliven, a fire alarm was received for a fire in a house in the "Rechitsa" district. A 58-year-old man was injured, he has burns on his legs. He was taken to hospital by an EMAC team.

At the regional fire station in Sofia, a fire alarm was received for a fire in a house in the village of Osikovska Lakavitsa, Pravets municipality. A 46-year-old man was injured, he has burns on his body and limbs. He was taken to a hospital in Sofia by an EMAC team.

There was one false alarm.
