Mayor Dimitar Nikolov sent a congratulatory message to cultural and educational figures on the occasion of the Day of the National Enlighteners – November 1st. "Dear Burgas cultural and educational figures, I address you with my warmest feelings and congratulate you on the occasion of the bright holiday November 1st – Day of the National Enlighteners," it says in his message. This day, the mayor emphasizes, is a time to pay tribute to all those who followed the example of Paisius of Hilendar, not allowing the flame of Bulgarian identity to die out in difficult times.
On this day, when the country strives to take its rightful place in the modern world, the role of teachers and cultural figures is no less important than in the past. They must be the main pillar of society, inspiring it to move forward and achieve new successes in its development.
The mayor addresses teachers and cultural figures from Burgas personally, highlighting their decisive role. "Our ambitious goals to implement innovations in education, to create modern schools and specializations would not be realized without your enthusiasm and professionalism," the message says. Dimitar Nikolov expresses gratitude for their contribution to the development of schools and community centers, as well as for the upbringing of young people in respect for Bulgarian values and their integration into the world of science, art and spirituality.
At the same time, the mayor also sends a congratulatory message to all Burgas students who are on the path of knowledge and glorify the city with their successes in national and international Olympiads. In conclusion, he wishes everyone to worthily carry the flame of the first enlighteners.
