The consumer basket, including a total of twenty-seven essential food items, has registered a price increase. According to the current data, the increase amounts to two leva, with the total value of the basket now reaching one hundred leva. This was reported by the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets.
Experts from the commission express the opinion that the market as a whole remains stable. Nevertheless, a gradual rate of price increase is observed, which is associated with the approaching winter season. It is evident that the changes in the food market are noticeable, with some products becoming cheaper while others become more expensive.
The analysis for the last week shows that the only product from the essential food items that has decreased in price is cheese. At the same time, pork registers a price increase for the third consecutive week, which is a signal of the trends in this key category.
In parallel, since last week, wholesale prices of tomatoes have decreased by twelve stotinki. Potatoes register a decrease of seven stotinki, cabbage – of five, and oranges – of fifteen stotinki. These changes in wholesale prices indicate some dynamism in the market.
The most significant price increase for the week was registered for zucchini, with an increase of thirty stotinki. Apples have increased in price by twenty stotinki, peppers – by fifteen, and cucumbers – by thirteen stotinki. Consumers are already feeling these price changes when purchasing vegetables and fruits.
