Man Injured After Falling from Cart, Four Injured in Burgas Region Accidents

A cart incident in Karnobat and two accidents with a total of four injured marked August 20, police reported.

On August 20 around 18:37, in the village of Exarch Antimovo, Karnobat municipality, a 39-year-old resident was injured in a cart incident. Due to loss of control, the horse-drawn vehicle went off the road and hit a roadside curb. During the impact, the man fell and sustained an injury in the groin area.

An alcohol test was performed on-site, with the breathalyzer registering 1.40 per mille. Work on the case continues.

Earlier in the day, two more road accidents occurred with four injured.

Around 09:28 at the intersection of Slivnitsa and Patriarch Evtimiy streets in Burgas, a 27-year-old driver of a locally registered Seat Ibiza did not stop at a STOP sign and side-swiped a Honda Accord moving according to the rules, driven by a 40-year-old Burgas resident. As a result, a 42-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl traveling in the Honda were injured. They sustained neck and chest contusions and were taken to UMBAL - Burgas.

Around 13:30 on the Burgas - Varna road, at km 203.5, a 55-year-old Moldovan citizen residing in Nessebar was driving a Varna-registered Renault Megane Scenic. While exiting a roadside property, he did not yield to a Sofia-registered Renault Captur moving on the main road towards Varna, driven by a 45-year-old man from Pernik. The two vehicles collided.

The Renault Captur driver sustained an injury to his left arm, and his companion had a cervical vertebrae injury. Both were admitted to the Heart and Brain hospital for examination and subsequently released without life-threatening conditions.
