In response to the alarming trend of increasing cardiovascular diseases, the Municipality of Pomorie is taking decisive action by renewing its initiative for free preventive screening of the population. This measure comes at a time when public health is increasingly threatened by so-called "silent killers", which often remain undiagnosed until a late stage.

The importance of prevention

The news of the program's renewal has been met with interest from local residents, who realize the importance of early prevention. Medical specialists emphasize that preventive measures are the key to reducing mortality and improving quality of life. Cardiovascular diseases remain one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and free screening provides a vital opportunity for people to check their health without having to pay for a consultation.

The initiative officially starts on September 26, 2025, at Medical Center 1 - Pomorie. Examinations will be conducted from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, which facilitates access for working citizens. To ensure maximum coverage, the examinations will be held two days a month for the next four months - September, October, November, and December.

The program represents a significant step forward in the local government's efforts to provide better healthcare for its citizens. It not only allows for early diagnosis but also encourages a responsible attitude towards one's own health, which is the foundation of any effective health policy. The municipality's efforts are focused on the accessibility and systematic nature of preventive activities to achieve sustainable results in the fight against the spread of cardiovascular diseases.
