The Unification of Bulgaria on September 6, 1885, stands as one of the most significant dates in our national history, marking the successful conclusion of a long and persistent struggle for national unity. We are approaching the 139th anniversary of this historic act, which saw the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia join together, and Pomorie will honor the occasion with a commemorative program.

Celebrations in the seaside town will begin at 10:30 a.m. in front of the memorial plaques dedicated to the heroes who fought for national liberation. The program includes a prayer of thanksgiving in memory of our national heroes, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony. The official event will feature presenter Presiyana Dureva, as well as the "Talanti" vocal group from the "Ivan Vazov" Secondary School, under the expert guidance of Svetlana Valkova.

The festivities will continue at 5:30 p.m. at "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" Square, which will host the launch of the National Festival "Tastes of Bulgaria." Skilled master chefs and popular television personalities from several countries are arriving in Pomorie specifically for the event to showcase the culinary arts, accompanied by a rich musical program for the public.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. in the same square, a concert will be held as part of this year's "Festival of Crafts" – Pomorie 2026. The concept of the festival is to bring authentic Bulgarian traditions together with contemporary stage arts, with an emphasis on spectacular performances. Audiences will enjoy an impressive stilt-walking show, a fire spectacle, and an acrobatic performance inspired by our folklore heritage. The culmination of the evening will be a performance by the "Voyvodi" Folklore Group, who will blend traditional sounds with the festive spirit of September 6.

The final note of the events will take place from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., when the "Bathed in Light" fountain will delight residents and guests of the city with its final one-hour show of the season. The organizers invite everyone to join in the celebration.
