President Iliana Iotova will hand the national flag to the 35th Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition. The ceremony starts at 11:00 in the Coat of Arms Hall, the president's press office said.
Expedition leader Prof Hristo Pimpirev will take the flag on behalf of the team.
The team plans science, social and art projects. It has already presented them at a training camp in Aheloy.
The president's office says the previous expedition, the 34th in the 2025–2026 season, was one of the most successful in the history of Bulgaria's presence in Antarctica. Work on 35 science projects, Bulgarian and international, was supported at the St Kliment Ohridski base on Livingston Island.
During the same expedition, the base opened a modern laboratory block.
