Political Forces Prepare for Early Elections and Discuss Priorities

The deputies opened the new plenary session, with the focus on discussing the upcoming early elections and the priorities of the different parliamentary groups. The main topics were the adoption of the euro, changes to the Electoral Code, and visions for the future of Bulgaria.

The MPs opened the new plenary session, during which they discussed the past year of 2025 and made political statements for 2026. The focus in the parliamentary groups' declarations was the adoption of the Euro and the looming early parliamentary vote.

Parliament Speaker Raya Nazaryan called for constructive work and tolerance during the election campaign.

GERB-SDS highlighted their role in Bulgaria's European integration, emphasizing the efforts of Boyko Borisov and SDS.

"We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" insisted on fair elections with changes to the Election Code, machine voting, and civic control.

"Vazrazhdane" declared themselves for a new constitution and the re-establishment of the state, emphasizing national sovereignty.

DPS called for responsible decisions and ensuring the work of the caretaker government.

BSP noted the entry into the Eurozone as a success, but expressed regret for the lack of a regular budget.

"There Is Such a People" (ITN) emphasized the lack of a regular budget and criticized its failure.

"Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" (APS) insisted on transparent elections with machine voting and electronic counting.

"Velichie" stated a commitment to fair elections.
