The political landscape in Bulgaria is characterized by growing tension and intra-party disagreements, according to an expert analysis of leading political figures. SDS Chairman Rumen Hristov presented a critical view of the current parliamentary configuration in a live interview .
Hristov outlined a symptomatic parallel between the current political processes and the protest waves of 2020. Particularly indicative is the so-called "symbolic protest" by the "Continue the Change" formation against their own coalition partners, who were previously part of their government.
Analyzing the political conjuncture, the expert emphasized the paradoxical situation in which former allies now occupy opposing positions. A specific example are the ITN and BSP parties, which were initially part of Kiril Petkov's cabinet, but are currently in an opposition configuration.
In the context of potential early parliamentary elections, Hristov outlined potential coalition scenarios. According to his forecast, in the absence of a parliamentary majority, "Continue the Change" could form an alliance with the MEH and "Grandeur" formations, which would represent an extremely interesting political combination.
An additional emphasis in his statement was placed on the procedure for selecting a new ombudsman. Hristov defined the inclusion of this point in the agenda as a result of Velislava Delcheva's categorical choice, whose candidacy is assessed as capable of consolidating the necessary parliamentary support.
The political analyst emphasized that opposition formations naturally seek to provoke a change in governance while simultaneously searching for mechanisms for their own political positioning.
