Police officers entered the buildings of Nesebar Municipality, as well as the Regional Directorate "National Construction Control" (RDNSC) – Burgas and the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water (RIOSV) – Burgas, the prosecution in Burgas announced to BTA. The police entry comes after ordered inspections in connection with the severe flood that claimed the lives of four people in the Elenite holiday village.

The police actions are focused on seizing documentation that could shed light on the causes of the tragedy and reveal violations that led to the incident. Obviously, the investigation is in its early stages, but serious measures are already being taken to clarify all circumstances.

Just a day before the police operation, data were published revealing irregularities and violations in the construction documents. These findings are the result of inspections initiated after the flood. The inspections in Elenite were ordered by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Ivan Ivanov, on October 3rd.

Minister Ivan Ivanov confirmed that the inspections in Elenite found significant omissions in the documentation. This is an important step towards clarifying the facts and determining responsibility for what happened.

Support for these conclusions also came from a report by the Basin Directorate "Black Sea Region" (BDCHR) – Varna, which further confirms the seriousness of the problems related to construction and infrastructure in the area. The results of the inspections will likely lead to further investigations and potential legal consequences.
