The National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation officially sanctioned the creation of a Master's program in "Veterinary Medicine" at the regional university. The institution possesses the full necessary material base to implement the ambitious educational project.

The innovative curriculum provides in-depth theoretical and practical training, including clinical education and internship modules. Classes will be conducted in two locations – the university infrastructure in Pordim and a newly purchased site directly within the urban territory of Pleven.

Final approval from the Ministry of Education and a parliamentary procedure are pending. Candidate students will be able to take entrance exams in biology or chemistry, and will also be evaluated based on their secondary education results.

The strategic goal of the initiative is to overcome the deficit of qualified specialists in the veterinary sector. The program will expand professional opportunities in animal husbandry, food control, and improve access to specialized training in Northern Bulgaria.

Expectations are that the new master's program will start in the 2025/2026 academic year, with a capacity of up to 400 students annually. This represents a significant step in the development of regional higher education and professional training.
