Prospective students of the Burgas Branch of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" have the opportunity to choose from four distinct educational paths that combine technology, creativity, and foreign languages. The application process for these degree programs takes place entirely online between September 8 and 11.
The first bachelor's program with which Sofia University launched its activities in Burgas—"Musical Media Technologies and Sound Engineering"—is preparing to welcome its fourth class. The training is highly practice-oriented and designed for young people interested in production, sound recording, audio processing, music, and modern media technologies. The curriculum includes work on real creative tasks that prepare students for careers in fields such as film, radio, television, podcasts, stage productions, and digital content creation. A new professional studio designed for the needs of this major is also in the advanced stages of construction.
Significant opportunities are also provided by the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology, which is expanding its language training in Burgas. The programs "Foreign Language Teaching Methodology – Japanese" and "Foreign Language Teaching Methodology – Chinese" will admit their second classes. These majors integrate intensive language training with the foundations of linguistics, pedagogy, and in-depth knowledge of the respective countries' cultures. Regarding state-subsidized spots, the available places are as follows:
- For Japanese language: 3 places;
- For Chinese language: 4 places.
The bachelor's major "Foreign Language Teaching Methodology – Korean" is being introduced in Burgas for the first time. It was created in response to the growing interest among young people in the Korean language environment and culture, with 6 state-subsidized places provided for its debut class. The training in all three language programs is distinguished by the participation of instructors for whom Japanese, Chinese, and Korean are native languages, which ensures students have daily contact with authentic pronunciation.
The Burgas Branch features modern facilities, including specialized learning spaces and equipment adapted for student projects and events. The presence of Sofia University in the city is gradually establishing its own student community. Detailed information regarding the application documents and available vacancies is available on the websites of Sofia University and the Burgas Branch.
