The Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross carried out two rescue operations within one day, successfully coming to the aid of injured tourists in different mountain areas.

The first intervention was registered in the area of Spano Pole shelter in Pirin Mountain, where a 64-year-old woman received qualified medical assistance due to a knee injury. Simultaneously, a second rescue group intervened in the area of Uzana hut in the Stara Planina mountain, where a 54-year-old tourist was assisted due to an injured ankle.

According to official information from the service, meteorological conditions for mountain tourism are extremely favorable. Temperatures range between 15 and 18 degrees, with clear skies and light to moderate wind in the higher areas.

MRS experts urgently recommend to all mountaineers: thorough route research, adequate equipment, sufficient food and water, sun protection, and a mandatory fully charged mobile phone.
