Report on the First 100 Days of Governance
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of "Progressive Bulgaria" (PB), Petar Vitanov, took stock of the National Assembly's work at the end of the plenary session. He emphasized that the campaign promises began to be fulfilled from the very first day.
"During these three months, we did not have time to hesitate; we made mistakes, we adapted on the go, but we learned our lessons," Vitanov stated.
Key Reforms and Achievements
- Judicial Reform: A procedure for a new composition of the Supreme Judicial Council has been opened, and the election of a new Prosecutor General is expected.
- 2024 Budget: A realistic budget has been adopted with a deficit of 5.7% and a minimum wage of 620 euros, ensuring financial stability.
- Recovery Plan: Anti-corruption laws have been adopted, unlocking billions of euros in European funding.
- Electoral Rules: Machine voting has been restored, and restrictions on the number of polling stations outside the EU have been removed.
- Energy Security: State control over key energy companies has been restored, and lobbyist decisions from previous administrations have been corrected.
Vitanov thanked the opposition for their criticism, urging them to return after the vacation with constructive ideas instead of demagoguery. "The cause of Bulgaria stands above the parties," he concluded.
