The National Library celebrates the 115th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished Bulgarian historian Petar Poparsov, whose research reveals the depths of our national history.

On July 30, 2025, Bulgaria pays tribute to one of the most significant historiographers of the 20th century – Petar Poparsov. His scientific contribution to the study of the Bulgarian National Revival continues to inspire generations of researchers and patriots.

The National Library "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" is organizing a special memorial exhibition dedicated to the remarkable scholar. The exposition presents unique manuscripts and first editions that document his remarkable historical research.

Poparsov (1910-1980) is the author of fundamental works such as "History of the Bulgarian Revolution" and "Bulgarians and the Ottoman Empire", which detail the national liberation processes. His studies are distinguished by exceptional scientific precision and depth.
