The Chinese Foreign Ministry denied a "Financial Times" report, according to which Xi Jinping told Donald Trump that Vladimir Putin "might regret" the war in Ukraine. Beijing speaks of a "pure fabrication" against the backdrop of Putin's upcoming visit and the preparation of a voluminous declaration and dozens of bilateral agreements.

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially rejected information reported by the "Financial Times" regarding an alleged comment by Chinese President Xi Jinping concerning the war in Ukraine. The position was announced by ministry spokesperson Guo Xiaokun during a regular briefing, as cited by TASS.

"The information you provided contradicts the facts and is a pure fabrication," the diplomat stated in response to a journalist's question on the topic, emphasizing that Beijing does not recognize the claims attributed to Xi Jinping.

Earlier, the "Financial Times" reported that during a meeting with US President Donald Trump, the Chinese head of state said that Vladimir Putin "might regret" his invasion of Ukraine. These reports were the reason for the official comment from Chinese diplomacy.

Meanwhile, a new landmark meeting between the two leaders is being prepared – Vladimir Putin is expected to arrive in Beijing on Tuesday for talks with Xi Jinping. On the agenda is the drafting of a 47-page declaration dedicated to the idea of a multipolar world order, as well as the signing of approximately 40 bilateral agreements.
