Following a decline in December 2025, the labor market in Bulgaria shows signs of recovery in January 2026, according to an analysis by JobTiger. The total number of job postings increased by 72% compared to the previous month, reaching 40,580.
The largest growth is observed in the sectors “Trade and Sales“ (23% growth), “Manufacturing“ (20% growth), “Administrative and Service Activities“ (12% growth) and “Hotel and Restaurant Business“ (11% growth). The “IT“ sector also reports growth, despite the year-on-year decline.
On an annual basis, a 5% decrease in job postings is observed. The largest decline is recorded in “Logistics and Transport“ (-29%) and “Marketing and Advertising“ (-26%). In the “IT“ sector, a 12% year-on-year decline is observed.
Regarding the distribution of shares, “Trade and Sales“ is in first place with 23%, followed by “Manufacturing“ (20%) and “Administrative and Service Activities“ (12%).
Job offers from home and/or remote work decreased on a monthly basis by 14% and annually by 6%, with the IT sector holding the largest share (43%).
By city, Sofia dominates with 37% of the job postings, followed by Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Ruse and Stara Zagora.
The decline in December 2025 is due to the traditional slowdown in work during the holidays, but January shows a recovery in the labor market.
