This evening, traffic in both directions on the road to and from the Sarafovo area in Burgas is seriously hampered due to an accident involving a minibus. The entire section is practically a traffic jam, with the column of vehicles stretching for kilometers.
The traffic jam has formed in both directions. Families with children, people returning from work, and tourists with luggage have been caught in the traffic jam. "We've been stuck in one place for more than half an hour. No one says what's happening or how long it will last," drivers shared on social media.
A police team is already on the scene to direct traffic and try to clear at least part of the lane to create a corridor for passage. However, there is currently no official information regarding the severity of the accident or when traffic is expected to be restored.
The Highways Department recommends that drivers postpone travel in this direction or, if possible, use alternative routes. Those who are already stuck in traffic are reminded to remain calm, not to drive in the opposite direction and not to block the traffic lanes in order to allow emergency vehicles and possibly ambulances to arrive at the scene.
The authorities are expected to provide more details about the cause of the accident and possible casualties later.
