The National Intellectual Property Office has initiated a large-scale program to support candidates who wish to participate in the European Qualification Exam (EQE). The strategic initiative is aimed at expanding professional opportunities in the field of patent representation.
The main focus of the program is multifaceted – on the one hand, it aims for professional development, and on the other – creating equal opportunities for candidates from different backgrounds. The leading principles include overcoming existing professional barriers and expanding access to patent representation.
Candidates must meet specific participation conditions. A mandatory requirement is pre-registration for the Unified Qualification Exam with confirmation for sessions F 2026 or M1 and M2 2026. The application period is strictly defined – from July 8 to August 15, 2025.
The required document set includes several mandatory components: a completed form, proof of residence, a motivation letter, a recommendation from the current employer, and an official confirmation of EQE 2026 registration.
Documents can be submitted through two main channels – directly at the office at 52 B G. M. Dimitrov Blvd in Sofia or electronically via email services@bpo.bg. Candidates have an additional opportunity to obtain detailed information through the official EQC portal of the European Patent Office.
The program demonstrates the strategic commitment of Bulgarian institutions to professional development and creating a favorable environment for young specialists in the field of intellectual property.
