This is stated in a declaration by "DPS-New Beginning", read by Iskra Mihaylova, on the occasion of the upcoming holiday.
The Day of the Enlighteners is a holiday for all those who have worked for the prosperity of the homeland and have contributed to its future, Mihaylova emphasized.
On this day, the names of writers, poets, artists, musicians, and public figures who have contributed to the development of Bulgaria as we know it today are spoken. This day is a time for reflection and reverence for the artists and intellectuals who shaped Bulgarian identity.
Time has always presented challenges to the leaders and enlighteners of the Bulgarian people. Our history is filled with difficult moments, but in them, the enlighteners of Bulgaria have always been at the height of the intellect of progressive humanity. They have always upheld principles and professed faith in the preservation of traditions, in the path of the young, Iskra Mihaylova noted.
Today, in addition to celebrating the past, we also note the fact that the enlighteners are part of today's Bulgaria. This day sets high goals before us - to preserve the family, dignity, faith, respect for knowledge, culture, unique and European identity. "This is a challenge for all the enlighteners of Bulgaria", say "DPS-New Beginning".
"Today's people have an even more difficult task - to be enlighteners in today's times, when outdated value systems have no place in life, when young people find their reading of both history and the present day, when aggression, hatred can put at risk the built national dignity. These times place extremely high demands on the contemporary enlighteners of modern Bulgaria", emphasize "DPS-New Beginning".
