The Parliament decided to extend today's session until all items on the agenda are exhausted. 116 Members of Parliament voted in favor of this decision, while 43 voted against and 18 abstained.
Key issues are expected to be considered on the agenda, including the continuation of the first reading of amendments to the Law on the Ministry of Interior. In addition, the Members of Parliament will also consider in the first reading changes to the Law on the National Security Service, as well as to the Labor Code.
During the session, Member of Parliament Ivaylo Mirchev from the "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" coalition spoke from the rostrum. He shared that an administrator had arrived in the hall, carrying a blue folder. According to Mirchev, the folder in question contained the resignation of the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Anton Slavchev.
Mirchev commented on the situation, emphasizing that apart from the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, no one else from the GERB parliamentary group had signed the resignation. This raised questions about the possibility of the GERB parliamentary group boycotting its chairman. He suggested that there might have been interference from other people, noting "If this thing is not possible, because the feeling remains that it is possible that Peevski ordered it, now I will give it to Mrs. Sacheva, so that the entire parliamentary group can sign together with its leader," added Mirchev.
At the beginning of today's session, which took place on October 30th of this year, Ivaylo Mirchev from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" handed a folder to the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov. In it, according to Mirchev, was the request for the resignation of the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Anton Slavchev. Borisov, as promised, signed the folder.
