The agenda for today's plenary session began with a discussion on changes to the composition of standing parliamentary committees, proposed by "Progressive Bulgaria." The second item on the program involves the review of a bill to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the Norway Grants 2021–2028 between Bulgaria and Norway, submitted by the Council of Ministers. Members of Parliament will also debate, at first reading, amendments to the Clean Ambient Air Act, which aim to synchronize national legislation with Regulation (EU) 2024/590 on substances that deplete the ozone layer and Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases. This framework establishes a system of sanctions and refines the powers of control and certification authorities.
During the session, the members of parliament rejected two proposals for hearings to be included in Thursday's agenda, submitted by the "Vazrazhdane" parliamentary group. The first, initiated by Petar Petrov and presented by the President of the National Assembly Mihaela Dotsova, concerned a hearing for Alexander Pulev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry, as well as Minister of Agriculture Plamen Abrovski. The purpose of the request was to discuss government measures against the rising costs of essential food items and services under the "Basket with Care" initiative. The second rejected initiative came from Kosta Stoyanov, who insisted on a hearing for Plamen Tonchev, Chairperson of the State Agency for National Security, regarding allegations of "ongoing illegal activity by the Ukrainian group KUB and its owner Oleg Nevzorov."
At the end of the session, Mihaela Dotsova informed her colleagues that she had notified Acting Prosecutor General Vanya Stefanova of the written consent received from MP Dimitar Avramov. With this act, the Member of Parliament has authorized the continuation of the criminal proceedings against him.
