Bulgaria and Pakistan deepen their economic cooperation
The Director General at the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Dr. Syed Shahbaz Hussain Shamsi, held a meeting with the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Tsvetan Simeonov. The main topic of the conversation was the potential of the Pakistani workforce for the Bulgarian market.
70% of Pakistan's 240-million population is under the age of 30, which offers a vast resource of young and qualified professionals.
Key highlights from the meeting:
- Exchange of specialists: Pakistan is seeking opportunities for its personnel to work in various economic sectors in Bulgaria.
- Visa facilitation: The BCCI is working actively with the government to optimize the process of issuing work visas for experts from third countries.
- Sectors for partnership: In addition to labor, both sides see potential in the trade of agricultural products (mangoes, rice, cotton), tourism, and academic exchange.
An online forum is to be organized to present business opportunities in Pakistan. It is important to note that the visa application process from Sofia to Pakistan is now fully digitized and carried out online.
