Bulgaria's agriculture and food ministry has announced a diesel excise rebate of €0.21 a litre for farmers. It covers fuel they bought and used in 2025.

More than €46m is due to be paid to nearly 15,000 farmers.

The rebate is state aid titled "Aid in the form of a rebate on the excise duty on diesel used in primary agricultural production". It is paid under the 2026 campaign and applies only to diesel used for mechanised work in primary farm production.

The scheme's 2026 budget is up to €51,129,188. The rest of the money will be paid in early 2027.

Farmers with valid 2025 campaign applications under the same scheme can also claim emergency aid because of the crisis in the Middle East. It is €0.44 a litre, based on fuel reported for primary production in calendar year 2024.
