The Renovated Regional Fire Safety Department in Sredets Opened

The renovated building of the Regional Fire Safety and Population Protection Department in Sredets was opened, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. Representatives of the Ministry of Interior and local authorities attended the ceremony.

The renovated building of the Regional Fire Safety and Population Protection Service was opened in Sredets. The renovation was carried out under a joint project of the municipal administration in the city and the General Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection”. Its value is over 530,000 BGN – funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.

The advisor to the Minister of Interior, Nikolay Nikolov, said that this is an object that is a good example in the system of the Ministry of Interior. The Regional Governor of Burgas region, Vladimir Krumov, pointed out that work continues on the new building of the fire service in Kameno. “I hope the project for the fire station in Ruen will start soon,” he said.

“This was a long-awaited project for Sredets. This building is not just an administrative building – it is a home for brave and worthy people who risk their lives to save ours,” added the mayor of Sredets municipality, Ivan Kichev.

The ceremony of cutting the ribbon also included the director of the General Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection” at the Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzartov, the director of the Burgas police, Senior Commissioner Marin Marinov, and the director of the Burgas fire service, Senior Commissioner Nikolay Nikolaev.
