A 42-year-old man remains in custody after police found nearly 2kg of heroin at his home in the village of Polenitsa on October 3. The district court in Blagoevgrad ordered him held in pre-trial detention, the toughest measure available. During a search of the house, detectives from the Sandanski district police department found about 1.98kg of pressed brown substance split into four packets on the second floor. A field test showed it was heroin.
Police also seized an electronic scale and cash from the house.
The investigation continues.
