Eight amateur volleyball teams took part in a charity tournament organized by "Women GERB" in the fully renovated sports hall "Mladost". The event was combined with a charity bazaar, and all the funds raised are intended for a family in a difficult situation and for the beginning of a special fund, from which money will be allocated in case of urgent need for various charitable causes.
The organizers emphasized that the idea of the event is to unite sport, community and empathy. The tournament brought together not just competitors, but "people with good hearts", ready to give their time and effort to support others. The initiative of "Women GERB" complements the tradition of using sporting events as a platform for social responsibility.
Christian cause and political support
The beginning of the competition was given by the mayor Dimitar Nikolov, who officially opened the tournament. In his speech, he emphasized the symbolism of the initiative, defining it as a "deeply Christian cause", aimed at helping people in need. The mayor thanked the candidates for people's representatives who have stood behind the idea.
The leader of the list Zhecho Stankov, as well as the candidates for people's representatives Andrey Runchev and Tsveta Staneva were present in the stands. Among the most active organizers was the chairman of "Women GERB" Eva Mihaleva, who is the main driver of the event and the creation of the charity fund. According to the participants, it is the combination of personal commitment and a clear cause that made the tournament possible.
Sports result and participation of the teams
There was no lack of sports spirit and desire to win on the court, but the main focus remained on the charitable goal. The team "Beach Volley" won the first place in the tournament, which prevailed in the decisive matches and grabbed the cup. The team of "MMC" ranked second, which also showed a strong game and perseverance throughout the day.
Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov attended the tournament. The chief judge of the tournament was Ivan Stanev from "Neftohim", who made sure that the matches proceeded under correct and professional conditions.
