The updated pensions for the month of July will begin to be paid out from "July 7". Pensioners who receive their funds through post offices will be able to collect them according to the approved schedule until "July 20" inclusive. For people who receive their pension via bank transfer, the increased amounts will be credited to their accounts on the "first day" of the payment period.
7.8% increase according to the Swiss rule
From "July 1", all labor pensions granted by the end of "2025" have been increased by "7.8%" according to the so-called "Swiss rule". "Widow's supplements" paid to eligible persons' pensions also increase by the same percentage. Thus, the base amounts of a large portion of pensions are adjusted upward in view of inflation and the social security income.
Higher minimum pension and effect on other payments
There is also an increase in the "minimum pension for length of service and age", which automatically leads to higher amounts for a number of other pensions and payments. Among them are "disability pensions", "survivor pensions", and pensions for "incomplete length of service". The increase in the minimum threshold serves as a base for these categories and improves the incomes of the most vulnerable groups of pensioners.
The social old-age pension is also growing
Since the beginning of the month, the "social old-age pension has also been increased". The change will affect a number of "social payments and supplements" whose amount is tied to this specific pension – for example, certain types of disability aid and additional social allowances.
New pensions are now without the "COVID supplement"
There are also changes for "newly granted pensions". From "July 1", the additional sum known as the "COVID supplement" is no longer included when determining new labor pensions. This means that it remains part of the old granted pensions, but does not enter the calculation formula for new ones granted after this date.
Unemployment benefits arrive on July 15
On "July 15", the National Social Security Institute will also transfer "unemployment benefits" to eligible persons. Thus, July will be a month with several key payments – increased pensions, adjusted social pensions, and regular unemployment benefits – which affect a wide range of people in the country.
