At the center of automotive innovation, the German manufacturer Opel has lifted the veil on its latest creation, revealing the first full set of images and the name of its new concept car. Just a week after hinting at some of its key features, the company officially unveiled the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo. The model will make its world debut at one of the most prestigious events in the industry - the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, which will take place from September 8 to 14, 2025.

As the name suggests, this stunning concept car doesn't just provide a preview of future models of Opel's sporty GSE sub-brand. It also firmly confirms the company's commitment to the small car segment, demonstrating that compact dimensions can be combined with exceptional power and dynamics. The new concept is the embodiment of Opel's sporty philosophy, combining breathtaking design with impressive technical specifications.

Virtual reality meets the real world

One of the most innovative aspects of this model is its dual nature - a physical prototype and a virtual experience. For the first time in the brand's history, an Opel concept car will not only be able to be viewed up close, but also driven. Every enthusiast will be able to get behind the wheel of the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo in the virtual space of one of the world's leading racing simulators - Gran Turismo 7, as early as this autumn.

This unique combination of reality and the digital world highlights Opel's vision for the future of mobility and its connection to the gaming community. Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel, commented:

"The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo takes our GSE sub-brand to the next level. It not only shows what is possible on a small car platform, but also provides a clear glimpse into the future and appeals to all kinds of car enthusiasts. For the first time, an Opel concept can not only be admired from afar. This autumn, anyone can drive this stunning new car in Gran Turismo 7 and experience thrilling moments with the GSE themselves. The result of combining the iconic Corsa badge with the high-performance characteristics of the GSE speaks for itself".

This enthusiasm was joined by Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the Gran Turismo series, who shared:

"We are excited to welcome Opel back to Gran Turismo with such an exciting and innovative interpretation of the Corsa. Opel has a rich racing heritage, and the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo will be popular among GT players worldwide. We love to see Vision Gran Turismo cars inspired by reality as models and we can't wait for the reaction of fans when they are presented at the IAA Mobility 2025 on September 8, before being shown at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Berlin on Saturday, September 20".

Power, efficiency and new-generation dynamics

The heart of the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is its all-electric powertrain, which sets new standards for performance in the segment. The car is equipped with two electric motors - one on each axle, generating a total power of an impressive 800 hp and a torque of 800 Nm. This configuration provides constant all-wheel drive, which guarantees optimal traction, stability and handling in all conditions.

Thanks to the 1-speed transmission, the concept model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.0 seconds, reaching a top speed of 320 km/h. An additional highlight is the power-up function, which provides an additional 80 hp for up to four seconds, making it easier to overtake on the track. The 82 kWh battery provides enough energy for the impressive performance, and thanks to the use of lightweight materials throughout the construction, the car's weight is reduced to just 1170 kg.

Design inspired by the future and the past

The exterior of the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is a harmonious combination of muscular shapes and precise lines. Although it has dimensions similar to the standard Corsa, the concept is significantly lower and wider. The design reflects the latest interpretation of Opel's bold and pure design philosophy, embodied in the elegant execution of the next generation of the brand's vizor.

At the front, the illuminated Opel lightning bolt is at the center of the iconic compass, which serves as the backbone of the design. This compass principle is continued in the rear, where the distinctive compass-shaped brake light, created through edge-lighting technology, merges with the rear window, giving the car a bold and clean look.

Attention to detail also extends to aerodynamics. Intelligent solutions include:

The design also includes triangular elements inspired by historic race cars such as the Opel Manta 400, integrated into various components such as the wheel structure and the protective metal cage. The contrasting use of pearlescent white, saturated yellow, and black further emphasizes the car's sporty character.

A racing experience in the cockpit

The interior of the concept offers a pure racing experience, designed with the driver in mind. The elegant steering wheel provides a clear view of important information, which is projected onto a head-up display, eliminating the need for additional screens. The lightweight sports seat, along with the 6-point safety belts and the safety cage, ensures the highest safety standards. Innovative on-board sensors warn the driver of the presence of other vehicles in the blind spot, through illuminated fabrics on the dashboard and doors.

The new Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo represents an important milestone in Opel's long history of concept cars, which began 60 years ago with the presentation of the Experimental GT in 1965. With this model, Opel once again takes a step forward, combining its rich racing heritage with the iconic Corsa name and the technological innovations of the future. This is not only a look at the future generations of GSE sports models, but also the embodiment of the sub-brand's dynamism, combined in an all-electric and extremely attractive small car.
