Paramedic training starts in Pomorie in partnership with Burgas University
A joint initiative between the „Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov“ Burgas State University and the Municipality of Pomorie opens a new opportunity for unemployed people in the region. The two institutions signed an agreement in June to implement a training course aimed at acquiring key skills for the profession of "paramedic".
The initiative is fully funded under a project from the "Beautiful Bulgaria" program and aims not only to improve the qualifications of the participants but also to address the needs for trained personnel in the field of emergency medical care. The course is currently recruiting candidates, and ten unemployed people registered at the "Bureau of Labor" Directorate in Pomorie are eligible to participate.
The training is structured to provide in-depth theoretical and practical preparation. It will cover 300 academic hours, during which the trainees will acquire basic knowledge and skills necessary for effectively providing medical assistance in critical situations, as well as for the safe transportation of patients. The program is designed to meet modern standards for pre-hospital care.
The practical part of the training will be held in two key locations, which guarantees high-quality and comprehensive preparation. Part of it will take place at the training facilities of Burgas State University, and the rest at the Emergency Medical Care Center in Pomorie. This synergy between the academic environment and the real conditions of emergency care will allow future paramedics to face real-life cases and build confidence in their actions.
Those who successfully complete the course will receive a qualification that opens doors for various positions in the health sector. They will be able to work as:
- ambulance drivers
- assistants to emergency medical teams
- care staff for the elderly
