Burgas State University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" opened its doors for another training course, preparing future paramedics. The event marks the beginning of the training of new candidates wishing to pursue a career in this vital profession. This important stage is possible thanks to the signed agreement between the higher education institution and Pomorie Municipality, which is implementing a project under the program "Beautiful Bulgaria".
The atmosphere in the university was filled with anticipation and enthusiasm, as the trainees were welcomed by the rector of Burgas State University, Prof. Dr. Sotir Sotirov, and the director of the Center for Professional Training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mariana Yordanova, Ph.D. Among those present at the meeting was the director of the "Labor Office" in Pomorie, Stefana Karadzhova.
Ten unemployed people registered with the Labor Office in Pomorie will be included in the upcoming training. The course, scheduled to last 41 days, will include a total of 300 academic hours, dedicated to acquiring knowledge and practical skills in providing medical assistance in critical situations and transporting patients. Participants will have the opportunity to work as ambulance drivers, work as assistants to emergency teams, or provide care in nursing homes. The training will be held both at Burgas State University and at the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance in Pomorie.
The profession of paramedic is of key importance, enjoying international recognition and public authority. It is widespread in countries such as Europe and the United States. In Bulgaria, this profession is still developing and establishing itself. The paramedic plays a critical role, providing life-saving medical assistance in disasters, accidents, and other critical situations.
Pomorie, as a significant seaside town, has a tangible need for highly qualified personnel to provide medical assistance to both the local population and the numerous tourists during the active summer season. It is for this reason that the municipality trusted the rich experience and high quality of training provided by the Center for Professional Training (CPT) "Burgas" at Burgas State University, as its partner in the training of these important professionals.
