Pomorie Municipality will provide special bracelets with a QR code for people with dementia, Alzheimer's and other memory disorders. The initiative was voted on at today's regular 47th meeting of the Municipal Council.

The bracelets will contain a QR code, which when scanned will display a contact phone number for a relative of the wearer. The aim is to provide faster and more effective assistance to elderly people who often become disoriented and may get lost.

According to the motivations for the proposal, the number of people with such diseases is not small, and such a practice is already successfully applied in other municipalities.

The councilors accepted the report on the implementation of the Environmental Protection Program for 2025. The document notes a good environmental situation, without significant problems with air quality and noise pollution. Highlights include activities to protect Lake Pomorie, the maintenance of green areas, and the implementation of infrastructure and energy efficiency projects.

At the session, the Waste Management Program for last year was adopted. During this period, the total amount of collected household waste in the municipality reached over 13 thousand tons. The largest quantities were recorded during the summer months.

Over 200 containers for separate collection are located in the municipality. During the year, over 440 tons of construction waste were also transported, and control over their management and recycling is being strengthened.

At the meeting, the proposal of Mayor Ivan Aleksiev to increase the number of the Municipal Enterprise "Social Services" was also voted on. The changes include the creation of one additional position for a rehabilitation specialist in the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration in Pomorie and one headcount for a "Social Activities" specialist to the "Personal Assistance" mechanism.
