Attention: Telephone scam attempts in Pazardzhik
Another attempt at telephone fraud has been registered in the Pazardzhik area. The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Pazardzhik is once again warning citizens to be extremely vigilant, as the primary targets of the criminals are elderly people using landline phones.
In the last 24 hours alone, two attempts to defraud elderly women in villages around the city have been registered.
What is the scammers' scheme?
- The perpetrators pose as doctors, nurses, or police officers.
- They inform the victim that a close relative has been seriously injured in an accident.
- They demand immediate payment of a large sum of money for an emergency surgical intervention.
