Pomorie Municipality is an associated partner in the Recircle Med Blueprint project, related to the support and implementation of the blue and circular economy in tourism. The project covers several coastal countries, with the Greek University of Thessaly as the leading partner.

Pomorie hosted the first mobilization workshop for the project, with Marusya Tsvetkova - senior expert "Institutional Projects" at the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) as moderator. Local representatives of tourism, the economy and various initiative groups attended the event. All of them, together with the registered online foreign partners, were welcomed by Mayor Ivan Aleksiev. He shared that Pomorie Municipality has already started on the path of implementing practices from the blue economy and this is present in the integrated urban development plan. "I believe that we have something to learn from the experience of the other partners, because Recircle Med Blueprint takes into account the principles of the blue and circular economy, directing efforts in the field of tourism, which is very important for us", the mayor also commented.

During the working discussion, the Blueprint tool was presented, and project manager Georgi Petkov talked more about Pomorie's experience in project management and the overall approach to the circular economy.

The next step is an online meeting with the associated organizations and familiarization with the "Blue action plan".
