Tsarevo Municipality received 6.8 million BGN from the Interdepartmental Commission for Recovery and Assistance. The funds are intended for all emergency and recovery activities on sites affected by the flood in October this year and will provide the necessary work until the beginning of the summer season, announced the press center of Tsarevo Municipality.
The mayor of Tsarevo expressed gratitude to the caretaker government for its support after the disaster. This time, funds were also allocated for cleaning rivers and gullies - an important preventive measure, which we have been insisting on since the previous disaster, said Kirov, quoted by the municipal press center. We are also ready with the project for the correction of the riverbed of the Cherna River. The funding is at an advanced stage, the mayor stated.
According to him, earlier in November, the municipality also received nearly 5 million BGN in connection with the 2023 disaster. With these funds, we paid off overdue obligations to local companies and will restore infrastructure, added the mayor.
Kirov also said that the affected households are receiving support from the state for the damage caused. At the beginning of the new year, we will also distribute the funds from the donation account, the mayor said.
In October, heavy rains caused floods throughout the municipality. A state of disaster was declared there. The rains caused damage to road infrastructure, bridges, flooded residential buildings and private properties.
