Fire danger in Burgas: Municipality introduces strict measures
"The safety of our city and the protection of the environment during hot summer days depend on our joint efforts," stated the Mayor of Burgas.
In connection with the extremely high temperatures, the Municipality of Burgas urges residents and visitors to the city to be increasingly vigilant. Frequent reports of fires have necessitated urgent preventive waste management measures.
What should we not throw into household waste containers?
- Pressurized canisters: Deodorants and aerosols that can explode when heated.
- Portable batteries: Pose a risk of self-ignition.
- Glass objects: Glass bottles and containers, which in sunlight can act as a magnifying glass and cause a fire.
- Flammable materials: Any chemical substances or materials that ignite easily.
Measures taken by the Municipality of Burgas
The mayor of the city has ordered increased control over all landfill operators and companies performing waste-related activities. Regular inspections of firefighting equipment and the availability of initial extinguishing agents are mandatory.
