Burgas Municipality is implementing large-scale preventive measures to mitigate the risk of flooding and dangerous incidents that could arise during heavy rainfall. As part of this campaign, 39,250 meters of riverbeds, ravines, and drainage channels located in critical areas throughout the municipality have been treated. Specialized machinery is being used to carry out these tasks, while in areas with difficult access, manual labor performed by inmates is utilized. The top priority of these efforts is to ensure optimal hydraulic conductivity for all watercourses.

To date, technical cleaning activities have been successfully completed in the following sections:

Manual cleaning methods have been applied for the maintenance of ravines and riverbeds in numerous settlements and districts of the municipality. This list includes the villages of Bryastovets, Draganovo, Izvorishte, Mirolyubovo, Ravnets, Bratovo, and Marinka, as well as the town of Balgarovo. In addition, sanitation activities have been carried out in the Cherno More, Rudnik, Banevo, Sarafovo, Vetren, Lozovo, and Dolno Ezerovo districts, as well as the Fishermen's Settlement and the "Fifth Kilometer" area. The planned infrastructure activities are proceeding on schedule, with completion expected by the end of November this year.
