Solemn ceremony in honor of Bulgarian education
On May 20, a festive event dedicated to the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education, and culture will take place at the "Bulgaria" Hotel. A total of 88 educators from kindergartens and schools in Burgas will be recognized for their high professional achievements during the 2025/2026 academic year.
"Teachers are the enlighteners of our time, who build the future of our children with innovation and dedication," note the organizers from Burgas Municipality.
Award categories
The teachers were nominated by their colleagues in three prestigious categories:
- "Young Hope of Education" – for emerging talents in the teaching profession.
- "Lifetime Contribution and Enlightening Spirit" – for long-standing dedication and influence.
- "Innovator in Education" – for applying modern methods in the classroom.
The awards, which include a plaque and a certificate, will be presented personally by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov. The head of the Regional Department of Education (RUO)-Burgas, Valentina Kamalieva, will present the honorary "Neofit Rilski" awards on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The event program includes performances by young violinist Viktor Petrov and students from the "Lyuben Groys" Theater College, and the ceremony will be hosted by the popular actor Dimitar Marinov.
