Delivery of high-tech equipment for hospitals in the country
Minister of Health Katya Ivkova announced that specialized medical equipment will be delivered to 17 stroke centers in Bulgaria by August 28. The process, which was blocked due to complaints filed with the Commission for Protection of Competition, has now been unblocked.
"We will sign the contracts by the end of this week, and the equipment will be delivered by August 28, along with the completion of the necessary construction and installation works," Minister Ivkova clarified.
Significance for stroke patients
The project, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan and worth over 100 million euros, is key to the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. In addition to the six main stroke centers in Sofia, Plovdiv, Pleven, and Varna, there are plans to equip another 17 hospitals that will operate in a network.
- Sofia: "St. Anna", "Pirogov", "St. Ivan Rilski"
- Plovdiv: "St. George"
- Pleven: "Dr. Georgi Stranski"
- Varna: "St. Marina"
The implementation of the project is of critical importance, as the deadline for utilizing the funds under the Plan is August 31.
