Modernized Home for the Elderly in Varna
The “Gergana” home for the elderly in Varna now offers European-standard conditions for its residents following a complete renovation, with an investment amounting to nearly 4 million euros.
“Every person deserves a peaceful and secure old age,” emphasized Zornitsa Vasileva, Chief of Cabinet to the Minister of Social Affairs, during the official opening.
The renovation covers all four buildings of the complex. The following have been completely refurbished:
- The dining hall and kitchen block;
- The laundry room;
- The residential rooms, which now feature new furnishings.
New amenities for residents:
The elderly now have access to a modernly equipped medical office and a library. To facilitate mobility, an external elevator has been installed on one of the buildings. The project, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, ensures not only comfort for the residents but also significantly better working conditions for the staff.
Currently, the home has a capacity of 100 places, with 76 of them already occupied.
