UAE Announced Latifa as the First Virtual Member of the Emirati Family
The United Arab Emirates officially introduced the first virtual member of the Emirati family – Latifa, reported Khaleej Times. The artificial intelligence project attracted over 14,000 participants in a public vote to choose the name – Latifa won with 43%, followed by Mira (37%) and Dubai (20%).
Latifa represents the virtual Emirati family: her father Mohammed, mother Salama, and brother Rashid. The family is dressed in traditional Emirati clothing with a modern accent, designed to be accessible and pleasant for children and families, encouraging dialogue about technology, artificial intelligence, and digital services.
This is the first digital model inspired by the values of the Emirates, with a mission to reach different segments and languages of the community. Latifa and her family are part of the Digital Dubai initiatives, developed during the 'Year of the Community', announced by President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The new virtual family will be a 'digital ambassador' and will soon appear on social media, sharing stories and content about digital life in Dubai, as well as encouraging safe and responsible online behavior.
