Over 1800 eggs, 50 kilograms of cheese and more than 120 kilograms of yogurt will be used to prepare the New Year's banitsa with lucky charms in Burgas, the Municipality announced to BTA.
Its preparation began before sunrise in the kitchen "Alaminut" at "Burgas Markets" EOOD. Each piece of banitsa will contain a traditional New Year's charm, the workers in the kitchen said. They added that, traditionally, a one-lev coin will also be placed in the New Year's banitsa.
This evening, at "Troykata" square, more than 3000 pieces of banitsa with lucky charms will be distributed, as well as the same number of glasses of red wine for the residents and guests of the city, who will gather to welcome 2026.
The Municipality clarified that the distribution will be part of the festive program on New Year's Eve, which includes a concert by Christo and Veniamin.
