"Transfiguration Monastery" Collector Coin from the BNB
The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) has officially put into circulation a new silver collector coin dedicated to the "Transfiguration Monastery". The coin is part of the bank's program and is distinguished by its high artistic value.
Technical parameters: silver, fineness 999/1000, weight 23.33 grams, and diameter 38.61 millimeters.
Design and Symbolism
- Obverse: An image of the "Wheel of Life" mural by Zahari Zograf, along with the nominal value of 10 euros and the BNB emblem.
- Reverse: The architectural complex of the Transfiguration Monastery and an ornamental cross.
The project was designed by the renowned artist Svetlin Balezdrov.
Terms of Sale
The coin is offered at a price of 132 euros (258.17 BGN). The BNB reminds that:
- The mintage is limited to 5,000 pieces.
- Each customer can purchase only 1 piece.
- Sales are carried out at the BNB cash desks in Sofia and at offices of selected commercial banks.
- A notarized power of attorney is required for purchases on behalf of a third party.
- Persons under 18 years of age are not eligible to purchase the coin.
This is the fourth collector coin for the year, with an issue dedicated to St. Ivan of Rila scheduled for October.
