At its last meeting for 2025, the Council of Ministers will establish a new Euro Coordination Center. Its chairman will be Vladimir Ivanov from the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets.
Outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov explained that the center's task will be to coordinate institutions at the central, territorial, and municipal levels for control activities, communication aspects, and responses to problems of citizens and businesses. This will be especially necessary during the period of dual pricing in lev and euro, the lev/euro exchange. As well as for combating irregularities during the transition.
“We are counting on businesses and citizens that the introduction of the euro will have a long-term positive effect on the Bulgarian economy. From January 1, Mr. Ivanov, you will be the person who will communicate with the media on all issues related to the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria,“ Rosen Zhelyazkov emphasized.
