NIMH Issues Heavy Rain Warning: Red Code in Three Regions!

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology warns of significant rainfall in a large part of Bulgaria. Three regions are under a red code warning, eight under an orange code, and nine under a yellow code.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a warning for significant rainfall today in 20 regions of Western and Central Bulgaria.

In the regions of: Blagoevgrad, Smolyan and Kardzhali, the warning for significant rainfall is of the third degree - red code. Orange code has been declared for eight regions, and for nine regions of the country the warning is of the first degree - yellow code.

The weather today will remain cloudy, in almost the whole country with rainfall, in some places in Eastern Bulgaria accompanied by thunderstorms. 

Heavy and prolonged rainfall will occur in the western, southern and central parts of the country.

In most areas, a moderate easterly wind will blow. The maximum temperatures will be between 9 and 14 degrees, in the western half of the Danube plain: 5-7 degrees, in Sofia - around 6 degrees.
