National Academy of Arts Burgas Seeks Models for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
In one of the most creative hubs in the country, the branch of the National Academy of Arts (NAA) in Burgas has started the process of recruiting models for the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year. The initiative, aimed at supporting academic art education, is looking for candidates ready to pose for students of the prestigious educational institution.
According to the official announcement from the academy, the search is open to individuals over 18 years of age, without any gender-related restrictions. It is specifically emphasized that candidates are not required to have previous experience. Instead, the main criteria for success are patience and desire — qualities that are essential for posing over long academic hours.
The selection process includes submitting an application, followed by an interview with a professor from the NAA. Applications are accepted in person at the Port Complex building "Magaziya" 1, every weekday from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
The model's role is crucial for the development of young artists. According to the academic schedule, models will pose for both clothed figures and nude bodies, considering the needs of the different drawing and painting classes. This practice is an integral part of classical art education, as it allows students to study anatomy, light, and shadow directly from a live model, perfecting their skills.
Payment is made based on the number of hours attended. The financial terms announced by the NAA show that the price per academic hour varies depending on the nature of the posing.
- For a nude body, the payment is set at 7.40 BGN per hour.
- For a clothed figure, the price is 5.00 BGN per hour.
This compensation is an incentive for everyone who wants to get involved in the creative process and contribute to the education of the next generation of Bulgarian artists.
