Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynsky is considering a working visit to Ukraine, she stated to Bulgarian journalists in Brussels. Neynsky emphasized that the cause of Ukraine is very close to her heart and plans a visit in March together with the other EU foreign ministers.
She commented on the difference between the "Russian world" and peace based on international law. Neynsky stressed that Russia's war against Ukraine is part of a plan to attack European security.
European foreign ministers discussed the spread of disinformation and hybrid attacks. Neynsky noted that disinformation aims to undermine support for Ukraine and sow fear among people. Bulgaria, close to the Western Balkans and the theater of military operations, considers the topic of hybrid attacks extremely important, especially in connection with the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.
Neynsky shared that Bulgaria supports peace for Gaza, supported by the UN Security Council. She will also meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to familiarize him with security issues in Bulgaria. Neynsky emphasized the importance of the Black Sea strategy and the measures being taken, noting that sabotage against infrastructure in the Western Balkan countries undermines confidence in democratic processes and the desire to join the EU.
