Nesebar Municipality announced that it has finished cleaning the beds of the Byala and Hadzhiyska rivers. This was announced to the assembled journalists by the mayor of the municipality, Nikolai Dimitrov.

The work to remove the consequences of the disaster was carried out at a critical moment, Dimitrov emphasized, without going into details about the complexity of the task.

The mayor added that the state of emergency introduced in the municipality will remain in effect preventively for a few more days. The reason for this decision is the expected worsening of the meteorological situation, which increases the risk of new problems.

Dimitrov also announced another devastating decision. Nesebar Municipality will declare a day of mourning. This is in response to the heavy loss of human lives caused by the disaster. The news was received by the journalists present with visible tension.

The Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) recalls that the tragedy of the flood in Elenite took the lives of four people. Among the deceased are three men and one woman. The woman's body was found late yesterday afternoon. The discovery was made on the second floor of one of the buildings in the holiday village. The tragic finale of the events reminds us of the power of natural elements and their devastating impact.
