Today, the first contracts for the installation of heat pumps were signed under the program "Nesebar is for cleaner air." It consists of replacing air-polluting heating appliances with modern, environmentally friendly alternatives, in implementation of the large-scale municipal initiative "Green Nesebar."
"We have adopted a long-term policy for improving the living environment by increasing the "green" indicators in the Municipality of Nesebar. The "Green Nesebar" initiative unites many projects - from city holidays, holding festivals, exhibitions, etc. to the construction of the "Ravda" wastewater treatment plant, the transfer station for household waste, campaigns for cleaning the seabed, actions for collecting unnecessary black and white appliances, planting thousands of new trees, creating new green spaces, and other significant and beneficial initiatives for the community," said the mayor of Nesebar Municipality, Nikolay Dimitrov.
"Green Nesebar" is a registered trademark for investments in environmental protection, air and water, which started in 2008. It is a philosophy for sustainable development, based on the implementation of innovative solutions for saving resources and responsible attitude towards nature. The scope of this policy includes activities for the renovation of municipal buildings, the construction of photovoltaic systems for public buildings, the introduction of energy-saving street lighting, the construction of water supply systems with the aim of reducing water losses in populated areas and many others," added Nikolay Dimitrov.
The program for the replacement of heating appliances, as well as a number of other initiatives implemented with municipal or attracted funds, is part of the long-term policy of the Municipality of Nesebar for the development of a functional urban vision, consistent with the ecological balance and the active preservation of nature.
The implementation of the program "Nesebar is for cleaner air" is another step towards establishing "Green Nesebar" as a consistent policy aimed at improving the quality of life and a sustainable future for the local community.
