With a festive mood and among many citizens and guests, the mayor of Nesebar Municipality, Nikolay Dimitrov, opened the twelfth edition of the National Fish Festival "Autumn Passages".
The podium, decorated for the holiday, was a stage for greetings and exciting moments. Beside him stood the president of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation, Rosen Marangozov, to start the 53rd Balkan Sailing Championship, which Nesebar is hosting.
Against the backdrop of the light sea breeze, enlivened by the voices of those gathered, the holiday began with the mayor's words. "The Fish Festival "Autumn Passages" is an important part of the cultural calendar of our municipality, because it brings us all together - the citizens of Nesebar - for moments of relaxation after the end of the active season. The festival is traditionally visited by many guests of the city, who know that the charm of the Old Town in autumn is just as captivating as in the height of the tourist summer."
The official opening was marked by thanks. "Starting this year's edition, I want to thank the Ministry of Culture for the assistance it provides for the event. I also thank all the citizens and guests who are here to celebrate together. And last but not least - I wish success and fair winds to all the competitors who will compete in the Balkan Sailing Championship in the Nesebar Bay." - said Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov.
After his greeting, the president of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation, Rosen Marangozov, greeted those present and announced the 53rd Balkan Sailing Championship open. The eyes of those present turned towards the sea, expecting the start of the competitions. Competitors from six countries are participating in the competition, showing the international character of the event: Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Over the next two days, "Mesambria" Square will be the center of the holiday, filled with mood, music and numerous fans of the festival from near and far. The atmosphere promises a rich program and a lot of fun. The event is dedicated to the oldest craft in Nesebar - fishing and to all citizens who, with their work and dedication, contribute to the future of their families and the development of the city. The holiday pays tribute to the traditions and to the people who preserve them.
